Audit of international work: Guidance notes and template

আন্তর্জাতিক কাজের নিরীক্ষণ: নির্দেশনা নোট এবং টেমপ্লেট

Introduction

All schools taking part in the International Schools Award (ISA) will need to undertake an audit of existing international activity. As a school moves through the process they will update their audit.

ভূমিকা 

প্রতিটি স্কুল যারা আন্তর্জাতিক স্কুল এ্যাওয়ার্ড (আইএসএ) -এ অংশগ্রহণ করবে তাদের বর্তমান আন্তর্জাতিক কার্যক্রম এর একটি নিরীক্ষণ প্রয়োজন। যখন স্কুল এই প্রক্রিয়ার মধ্য দিয়ে যাবে তখন তারা তাদের নিরীক্ষণ আপডেট করবেন।

Purpose

In the early stages it is important to map out practice and have an overview of your school’s international activities that already exist. As you move through the ISA, analysing and evaluating the outcomes of the audit will provide your school with objectives that can make up a whole-school plan or feed into the school’s international policy.

The results of the audit form part of the evidence for all stages of the award.

উদ্দেশ্য

প্রারম্ভিক স্তরে, আপনার  স্কুলে ইতোমধ্যে যেসব আন্তর্জাতিক কার্যক্রম হয়েছে তা পর্যালোচনা ও অনুশীলনের পরিকল্পনা করা অত্যন্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। যেহেতু আপনি আইএসএ এর মাধ্যমে অগ্রসর হবেন, তাই নিরীক্ষণ  ফলাফলের বিশ্লেষণ এবং মূল্যায়ন আপনার স্কুলের লক্ষ্য নির্ধারণে সহায়তা করবে যা সমগ্র স্কুলের কর্ম-পরিকল্পনা প্রনয়ণে অথবা স্কুলের আন্তর্জাতিক নীতি প্রনয়ণে কাজে আসবে।

Methods

Use the headings on the template below to provide a focus for your information gathering. Your colleagues may well overlook much of their classroom work, failing to see that it might be classed as an international activity.

Remember to involve all members of staff, not just educators. However, inviting school colleagues to complete the audit without direct guidance and support can sometimes result in an unrepresentative account of international school activity. If possible, take a personal approach.

In smaller schools this exercise could be carried out in a staff meeting. In larger schools, the audit may be introduced at a staff meeting and then discussed in more detail at departmental meetings. Information gathered could then be collated by the head of department.

মনে রাখবেন, শিক্ষক ছাড়াও সকল কর্মী সদস্যকে অন্তর্ভুক্ত করতে হবে। তদুপরি, সরাসরি নির্দেশনা বা সহায়তা ছাড়া নিরীক্ষণ সম্পূর্ণ করতে স্কুল সহকর্মীদের আমন্ত্রণ জানালে ফলাফল কখনো কখনো আন্তর্জাতিক স্কুল কার্যক্রমের অপ্রতিনিধিত্বমূল হতে পারে। যদি সম্ভব হয় ব্যক্তিগত উদ্যোগ নিন।

ছোট স্কুলে স্টাফ মিটিং এর মাধ্যমে এই অনুশীলনটি করা যেতে পারে। বড় স্কুলে, স্টাফ মিটিং এ নিরীক্ষণের কথা উল্লেখ করা যেতে পারে এবং পরবর্তীতে বিভাগীয় মিটিং এ আর বিস্তারিত আলোচনা করা যেতে পারে। পরবর্তীতে বিভাগীয় প্রধান তথ্য সংগ্রহ করতে পারেন।

Partner schools

A partner school can be described as a school with which there is direct communication. This communication may be by post or email, for example, and can be between individual staff and/or young people. This could be a personal link by one of the educators in the school or a more formal link organised by the local community. 

·         At the Foundation level, there is no requirement to have any existing partner schools, but schools should be actively seeking and preparing to work with partner schools on activities.

·         At the Intermediate level, schools should have made contact with at least one school from another country and be actively working on joint collaborative projects.

·         For the Full Award and to gain reaccreditation, schools should have a strong partnership with one or more schools in another country and be involved in a variety of curriculum activities.

পার্টনার স্কুলসমূহ

সেই স্কুলকেই পার্টনার স্কুল বলা যাবে যার সাথে সরাসরি যোগাযোগ থাকবে। এই যোগাযোগটি ডাক বা ইমেইলের মাধ্যমে হতে পারে এবং নির্দিষ্ট কর্মী এবং / অথবা তরুণদলের মধ্যে হতে পারে। এটি একজন শিক্ষকের ব্যক্তিগত যোগাযোগের দ্বারাও হতে পারে বা স্থানীয় কমিউনিটির মাধ্যমে আনুষ্ঠানিক যোগাযোগও হতে পারে।

·        ফাউন্ডেশন লেভেলে কোন পার্টনার স্কুল থাকার প্রয়োজন নেই। কিন্তু স্কুলকে সক্রিয়ভাবে পার্টনার স্কুল খোঁজা বা তাদের সাথে কাজ করার জন্য প্রস্তুত হতে হবে।

·        ইন্টারমিডিয়েট লেভেলে, স্কুলকে অবশ্যই অন্য দেশের অন্তত একটি স্কুলের সাথে যোগাযোগ থাকতে হবে এবং সক্রিয়ভাবে যৌথ সহযোগিতামূলক প্রজেক্টসমূহে কাজ করতে হবে।

·        ফুল এ্যাওয়ার্ডের স্বীকৃতি অর্জনের জন্য স্কুলকে অন্য দেশের এক বা একাধিক স্কুলের সাথে শক্তিশালী পার্টনারশীপ থাকতে হবে এবং বিভিন্ন শিক্ষাক্রমিক কার্যক্রমে অন্তর্ভুক্ত থাকতে হবে।

Auditing progression

An audit of international work should be carried out at all three stages of the award.

First steps - It is likely that most of your international activity takes place on visits, during assemblies, in after-school clubs and during cross-curricular activity days. This is a good starting point from which to develop international activities across the school.

Visits and trips – With the aid of funding, it is possible to support educator visits abroad and exchanges. These experiences are taken back into the classroom for the benefit of the young people, staff, the school and the local community.

Embracing technology – Depending on where your partners are based, ICT can help to facilitate direct links and collaborate with partners in other countries. At an early stage young people exchange emails about their school, community or wider themes such as the environment or human rights. If partner schools are ICT-enabled, British Council Schools Online can set up a collaboration space to enhance communications.

নিরীক্ষণ অগ্রগতি

এ্যাওয়ার্ডের তিনটি পর্যায়ের প্রত্যেকটিতেই আন্তর্জাতিক কাজের নিরীক্ষণ করতে হবে।

প্রথম ধাপ – সম্ভবত, আপনার স্কুলের বেশিরভাগ আন্তর্জাতিক কার্যক্রম ভিজিট-কালীন সময়ে, সমাবেশকালে, স্কুল পরবর্তী ক্লাবের মাধ্যমে এবং সহশিক্ষাক্রমিক কার্যক্রমের দিনগুলোতেই হয়।

পরিদর্শন- ফান্ডিং-এর সহায়তায় শিক্ষকদের বিদেশ ভ্রমন এবং বিনিময় সম্ভব। এই থেকে অর্জিত অভিজ্ঞতাগুলো তরুণদল, কর্মী, স্কুল এবং স্থানীয় কমিউনিটির উপকারে শ্রেণিকক্ষে প্রয়োগ করা যেতে পারে।

প্রযুক্তিকে সাদরে গ্রহণ – আপনার পার্টনার কোথায় আছে তার ভিত্তিতে, সরাসরি যোগাযোগ এবং অন্য দেশের পার্টনারদের সাথে একত্রে কাজ করবার ক্ষেত্রে আইসিটি আপনাকে সাহায্য করতে পারে। প্রাথমিক স্তরে, তরুণরা তাদের স্কুল, কমিউনিটি বা বিস্তৃত বিষয়সমূহ যেমন পরিবেশ বা মানবাধিকার বিষয়ে ইমেইল আদান প্রদান করবে। যদি পার্টনার স্কুলে আইসিটি সুবিধা থাকে, যোগাযোগ বৃদ্ধির জন্য ব্রিটিশ কাউন্সিল স্কুল অনলাই একটি সহযোগিতামূলক স্পেস সেট আপ করে দিতে পারে।

Looking back

Each section of the audit should include activities that have taken place over the last academic year from the date of application (e.g. from September to July). Please note that the activities that took place over the last 12 months can be used only while filling in the Foundation or the Intermediate application as they are awarded for retrospective work.

আবেদন পূর্ববর্তী প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক বছরে গৃহীত কার্যক্রমসমূহ নিরীক্ষনের প্রতিটি সেকশনে অন্তর্ভুক্ত করতে হবে। (যেমন: সেপ্টেম্বর থেকে জুলাই পর্যন্ত)। উল্লেখ্য, গত ১২ মাসের মধ্যে যে কার্যক্রমসমূহ গ্রহণ করা হয়েছে তা কেবল ফাউন্ডেশন বা ইন্টারিমিডিয়েট এর আবেদনপত্র পূরণের সময় ব্যবহার করা যেতে পারে যেহেতু এ দুটো পর্যায়ে অতীতের কাজসমূহ মূল্যায়ন করা হয়।

Completing the sections on the form

Please note that you do not need to complete all sections.

1.  Curriculum activities

It is important to include activities involving any partner schools (formal or informal), any classroom-based international activity and the impact of this on young people or professional development.

১। শিক্ষাক্রম ভিত্তিক কার্যক্রমসমূহ

পার্টনার স্কুলসমূহের (আনুষ্ঠানিক বা অনানুষ্ঠানিক)ক্লাসরুম ভিত্তিক আন্তর্জাতিক কার্যক্রম এবং তরুণদল বা পেশাগত উন্নয়নের উপর এর প্রভাব অন্তর্ভুক্ত করা গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।

2.  Cross-curricular activities

Consider a focused day or week in which young people respond to or examine an international theme. Perhaps you could introduce cross-curricular work, which often has an international dimension.

Examples might include European Day or World Book Week, with individual classes concentrating on a different country across subjects.

২। পাঠ্যক্রম সহায়ক কার্যক্রম  

একটি দিন বা সপ্তাহকে নির্ধারণ করুন যখন তরুণরা আন্তর্জাতিক বিষয়বস্তু সম্পর্কে প্রতিক্রিয়া ব্যক্ত করবে বা গবেষণা করবে। সম্ভবত আপনি শিক্ষাক্রম সহায়ক কার্যক্রম এর সূচনা করবেন যাতে আন্তর্জাতিক মাত্রা যুক্ত থাকবে।

উদাহরণস্বরূপ হতে পারে, ইউরোপিয়ান দিবস বা বিশ্বব্যাংক সপ্তাহ উদযাপন যেখানে প্রতিটি বিষয়ের জন্য বিভিন্ন দেশের উপর একাধিক স্বতন্ত্র ক্লাস থাকবে।

3.  Assemblies

Assemblies are an excellent opportunity to reach a wide audience. Assembly topics could include:

• Current affairs

·         Charity events

·         News stories

·         Presentations by staff and young people following a visit overseas

·         Reports on international projects ongoing in the school

·         Presentations by overseas visitors to the school, including visiting young people

·         Music by visiting musicians from another country

৩। সমাবেশ

প্রচুর শ্রোতার কাছে পৌছানোর একটা চমৎকার সুযোগ হলো স্কুল সমাবেশ। সমাবেশে যে বিষয়গুলো অন্তর্ভুক্ত হতে পারে:  

·        সাস্প্রতিক ঘটনাবলি

·        দাতব্য ঘটনাবলি

·        সংবাদ কাহিনী

·        বিদেশ ভ্রমণের পর কর্মী ও তরুণদলের উপস্থাপনা

·        স্কুলের চলমান আন্তর্জাতিক প্রজেক্টের উপর রিপোর্ট

·        তরুণদলের পরিদর্শন সহ স্কুলে বিদেশী পরিদর্শকের উপস্থাপনা

·        অন্যান্য দেশ থেকে আগত শিল্পীদের সংগীত।

4.  Visits overseas and around your home country (young people)

Young people are sometimes given the opportunity to visit other countries either during school time or in the holidays. These visits are not reciprocal and should not be confused with pupil exchanges (see no.5).

Examples include a day visit to France, a study visit overseas for art or business or history trip to visit the Belgium battlefields. Although these visits are often organised and managed in individual subject areas they can be of significant benefit to other areas of the curriculum. 

Include visits to galleries, museums and cultural centres in your own country if the trips encourage engagement with other cultures.

NB. To qualify as a valid partnership activity, a visit must be based on curriculum learning.

৪। বিদেশ এবং স্বদেশর পরিদর্শক (তরুণদল)

তরুণদলকে কখনো কখনো স্কুলের সময় বা ছুটির দিনে অন্যান্য দেশ ভ্রমণে যাওয়ার সুযোগ দেয়া হবে। এই ভ্রমণ পারস্পরিক হবে না এবং শিক্ষার্থী বিনিময় কার্যক্রমের সাথে বিভ্রান্তি তৈরি করবে না। (৫ নং দেখুন)

এর উদাহরণ হতে পারে ফ্রান্সে একদিনের ভ্রমণ, শিল্প বা ব্যবসার জন্য বিদেশ ভ্রমণ বা ঐতিহাসিক ট্রিপ হিসাবে বেলজিয়ামের যুদ্ধক্ষেত্র পরিদর্শন ইত্যাদি। যদিও এই ভ্রমণগুলো কোন একটি বিশেষ বিষয়ের জন্য সংগঠিত ও পরিচালিত করা হয়ে থাকে, এগুলো শিক্ষাক্রমের অন্যান্য ক্ষেত্রকেও তাৎপর্যপূর্ণ ভাবে সমৃদ্ধ করে।

যদি ট্রিপ অন্যান্য সংস্কৃতির সাথে সংযোগকে উৎসাহিত করে তবে নিজ দেশের গ্যালারি, জাদুঘর এবং সাংস্কৃতিক কেন্দ্রগুলোতে ভিজিট অন্তর্ভুক্ত করুন।

উল্লেখ্য, বৈধ পার্টনারশীপ কার্যক্রমের স্বীকৃতি পেতে হলে, পরিদর্শনসমুহকে অবশই শিক্ষাক্রমের সাথে সম্পৃক্ত হতে হবে।

5.  Exchanges (young people)

Once a link has been secured with a partner school your school might consider a pupil exchange; an excellent opportunity for language exchange. But, remember, there is an opportunity for other areas of the curriculum to benefit from these exchanges too.

৫। বিনিময় (তরুণদল)

একবার পার্টনার স্কুলের সাথে সংযোগ নিশ্চিত হয়ে গেলে আপনার স্কুল শিক্ষার্থী বিনিময় করতে পারে যা ভাষার বিনিময়ের একটি চমৎকার সুযোগ। কিন্তু মনে রাখতে হবে, এই বিনিময় থেকে শিক্ষাক্রমের অন্যান্য ক্ষেত্রও সমৃদ্ধ করার সুযোগ আছে।

6.  Head teacher, teacher and non-teacher visits/visitors

This section requires any visits to schools or other educational establishments. Receiving visitors from overseas should also be included in this section, e.g. educator hospitality programmes and artists in residence. This may or may not be a reciprocal arrangement. Unlike all the other sections (except section 7) in the audit, examples may be quoted spanning the last three years.

৬। প্রধান শিক্ষক, শিক্ষক এবং শিক্ষক নন এমন ব্যক্তির পরিদর্শন/পরিদর্শকগণ

এই সেকশনে স্কুল বা অন্যান্য শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠানে পরিদর্শনের বিবরণ থাকবে। বিদেশ থেকে পরিদর্শকের আগমন এই সেকশনে যুক্ত করা উচিত। যেমন: শিল্পী এবং শিক্ষকদের আবাসিক হসপিটালিটি প্রোগ্রাম। এটি স্কুল সমূহের মধ্যে পারস্পরিক ব্যবস্থাপনায় হতে পারে আবার নাও হতে পারে। নিরীক্ষণের অন্যান্য সেকশন থেকে (সেকশন ৭ বাদে) এর ভিন্নতা হল, এতে গত তিন বছরের কার্যক্রম তুলে ধরা যেতে পারে।

7.  Exchanges (educators)

This section should include any exchanges made by educators in the school with educators from schools overseas. Unlike all the other sections (except section 6) in the audit, examples may be quoted spanning the last three years.

৭। বিনিময় (শিক্ষকগণ)

এই বিভাগে বিদেশী স্কুলের শিক্ষকদের সঙ্গে আপনার স্কুলের শিক্ষকদের আদান প্রদান অন্তর্ভুক্ত করা উচিত। নিরীক্ষণের অন্যান্য বিভাগ থেকে (সেকশন 6 বাদে)এর ভিন্নতা হল, এতে উদাহরণ হিসাবে গত তিন বছরের কার্যক্রম তুলে ধরা যেতে পারে। পারস্পরিক সহযোগিতামূলক প্রজেক্টসমূহের অন্তর্ভুক্ত পরিদর্শনসমূহ এই সেকশনে অন্তর্ভুক্ত করা উচিত।

8.  Links with schools overseas

As well as recording formal links it would be useful to discover whether any colleagues have informal or personal links with friends who work in education overseas. These contacts could form the basis for a link with a school in another country for future activities.

৮। বিদেশে স্কুলের সাথে লিংকসমূহ

আনুষ্ঠানিক লিঙ্কগুলো রেকর্ডের পাশাপাশি কোন সহকর্মীর বিদেশে কারো সাথে বন্ধুত্ব আছে কিনা তা খুঁজে বের করা সুবিধাজনক হবে। ভবিষ্যত কার্যক্রমের জন্য বিদেশী স্কুলের সাথে সংযোগের ক্ষেত্রে এই কনট্যাক্টগুলো ভিত্তি হিসেবে কাজ করবে।

9.  Links with other schools in your home country

Use this section to list links your school may have with other schools in your country in terms of sharing or exchanging international information. These exchanges could include multi-cultural visits, joint planning or action planning. Forming ‘clusters’ with other schools is good way to share and disseminate international best practice.

৯। আপনার নিজ দেশে অন্যান্য স্কুলের সাথে লিংকসমূহ

যদি আপনার নিজ দেশে অন্য কোন স্কুলের সাথে আপানার স্কুলের সংযোগ থাকে তবে তার তালিকা এই বিভাগে অন্তর্ভুক্ত করুন। বিভিন্ন সাংস্কৃতিক পরিদর্শন, যৌথ পরিকল্পনা বা কর্মপরিকল্পনা ইত্যাদি এই বিনিময়ের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হতে পারে। অন্যান্য স্কুলের সাথে ‘ক্লাস্টার’ তৈরি করা, আন্তর্জাতিক পর্যায়ের উত্তম চর্চাসমূহ প্রকাশ ও আদান-প্রদান করার একটা ভাল উপায়।

10.  Other details

Please use this section to record other international activity that does not seem to fit into any of the other sections. You are also welcome to create new headings on the template.
